Sacred Heart Cycling consists of Road Cycling, Track Cycling, and Mountain Biking. The primary goal of the club is to promote the sport of cycling and foster a club that prioritises safety, enjoyment, fun, and challenge. The club caters to all riding abilities and seeks to develop teams and individuals with a desire to compete for the college.
Our coach is highly regarded Logan Mort. He runs his own coaching business (Grit Coaching) as well as mentoring our riders. We are fortunate to have his commitment and the benefit of his expertise and knowledge.
Training is held at school twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday between 3.30 and 4.30pm, and is a mix of spin on wind trainers provided by the club and general fitness activities and skills games. Once a month Logan Mort and volunteer parent riders undertake a longer training ride off site.
Membership is a tiered structure from social to elite. All new riders must attend the Learn to Ride sessions that follow an expression of interest to sign up. The final decision on membership is made upon completion of the introductory course. Existing members sign up according to their interest.

Elite members of the club have individually tailored programmes developed in consultation with our Head Coach that support the riders to achieve their ambitions.
Cycling at Sacred Heart College is run by a bunch of enthusiastic parents. We welcome new parents. Parents can ride or tail end charlie, drive cars, cook, support and cheer on our riders. The parent committee organises and coordinates all the events and day-to-day running of the club along with the invaluable assistance of the teachers in charge. Bikes, maintenance, and associated equipment are the responsibility of each rider's family. New and existing riders are shown and encouraged to undertake safety and maintenance checks to better understand the mechanics of their bicycle.
Road Cycling competes in five school events throughout the year, as well as a number of club events. The major focus is on the fortnightly Auckland Secondary Schools Team Time Trials held on Sunday mornings from May to September, the Mt Wellington Regional Schools Championships, North Island and National Championships.
The Time Trials are run by College Sport, with the timed racing taking place on closed road conditions around Pukekohe Race Track. This venue makes for very safe, fun, and competitive racing. Nearly all the top schools in Auckland are represented and each event has approximately 400/500 competitors. There are great facilities for parents to watch the action from the viewing platforms and above the garages.
Our Track cycling team competes all year round at both Manukau and Cambridge Avantidrome. They also compete at the National Track Cycling Championships in both the junior and senior categories.
